MUSIC!

Just One More Franchise Opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own)

Public schools are cutting enrichment programs throughout the country. Gym, Art, Music, even Recess are all going the way of the dinosaur. It's tragic and wrong, but that's for another blog. You can be part of the solution by owning an enrichment franchise that focuses on music. With sound stage, recording studio, private one-on-one lessons or bands and choirs, you offer it all to the children of your community. No, it's not all classical music, like old fashioned music schools. You offer all genres. Music lessons aren't just for kids either. Adults want to get back into their piano, guitar, and voice lessons, but kids are the bread and butter of this industry. It's enrichment education because music stimulates different parts of the brain than math or history, so the children actually get better grades (it's a proven fact that children who perform music, and learn to read and write music increase their IQs too!)

Fun? you bet it's fun! Can you imagine owning your own recording studio?  As the owner you'll hire teachers and instructors, plan events and book performances, do charity work, plan and book birthday parties and plan summer camps and seminars. This is a feel-good, and be-the-coolest-business-owner-in-town kind of franchise.
This franchise has great opportunity for semi-absentee ownership, too. You don't have to know anything about music, but you do have to be  good leader, create a fun culture and be engaged in your community.

It's not rocket science to own your own business. It's just different from the masses. A great business isn't for everyone, but it might be for you...

PETS PETS PETS!

Just One More Franchise Opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own)

Our animals are members of our family. The opportunities for serving our pets is humongous. Well over 60% of the population is committed to the owning  of a pet and the care of it.  Pet owners come in all ages, genders and backgrounds, so as an owner of a pet servicing franchise,  meeting a broad range and variety of animals and people will be a major part of your experience. Newest info:  Millenials are all about their pets (more so than having children!) And, for every Millenial that has a pet and a job there's a need for pet care, pet grooming, pet food, pet toys, pet.....everything. And there are franchises for all of them. From mobile groomers to brick and mortar day care, what you put into your franchise you'll reap ten-fold. Why? Because people will pay to keep their pets happy, healthy, safe, busy and cute.  So if you love dogs, if you want to work with animal lovers, then you really ought to look into a pet franchise. And, if you want to bring your pet to work? No Problem! You are the boss! Bring them ALL to work.
As the executive owner of any of a pet franchise you MUST LOVE DOGS ( and cats, too). You don't need to be a professional groomer or trainer, but you do have to be willing to be accommodating to pet owners. Most pet franchises are pretty protective of the kind of people they allow to be franchisees, so if you are awarded a franchise, don't worry, you'll be trained on how to run the business, what kinds of employee hires to bring on staff, and if the brand is a semi-absentee model, how to choose a general manager for your franchise. Your daily jobs will be to follow the franchise system of marketing, networking, creating events, and building the brand in  your community.

Fun? you bet it's fun! The hours of a brick and mortar are usually retail, and you'll have a larger staff. A mobile grooming franchise will require hiring and scheduling staff for the times when owners and their pets are home, so after work and Saturdays. ( Mobile grooming is huge because owners are sensitive to the stress created by dropping their loved one off for grooming)
This franchise has great opportunity for semi-absentee ownership. You'll hire another pet-lover to manage and schedule and share the fun!

Children's Sports Activities

Just One More Franchise Opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own)

Everything is about our kids- always. So I know you aren't surprised when you hear that kid's sports is a booming, multi million dollar industry. From Martial Arts to Soccer, from jumping on trampolines to skydiving, kids want to be involved in movement of all kinds, and parents support it all and love to see their children learning new physical skills.   Some sports franchises are part of local and national competitions (yes, trophies are involved) and some sports franchises have memberships for the parents to be involved as well, so they can learn alongside their son or daughter, and share in the thrills and spills. Either way, children's sports are family friendly. They are here to stay and are only growing. What are the benefits for children? Self-discipline, learning good sportsmanship, fair play, physical acumen, balance, confidence, respect for authority, better grades (yup-it happens), and fun!

As the executive owner of any of these models you don't need to be a professional athlete to own a children's sports franchise, but you do have to love kids and get along well with their parents. This is not for those individuals who would rather stay in the back room and work on the books. You must be outgoing, positive, energetic and you must be able to BE the brand. Don't worry, you'll be trained on how to run the business, what kinds of employee hires to bring on staff, and if the brand is a semi-absentee model, how to choose a general manager for your franchise. Your job will be to market, network, create events, and build the brand in  your community. Owning a children's sports franchise is rewarding, challenging and serves the community's children and parents in a uniquely supportive way. You are building character, courage, problem solving skills and respect for their elders & authority in these children, along with sportsmanship (we all have seen how important it is to be a gracious winner and a gracious loser- sports and the coaches/trainers who interact with our children are  the best at exemplifying how to be "good sports")!
Fun? you bet it's fun! The hours are when children are available, so, after school and Saturdays. Be prepared to throw birthday parties and plan Summer Camp Programs, as these are large-dollar revenue streams for children's sports franchises. But be forewarned: just because you loved baseball as a kid, or you were once on a semi-pro team, it doesn't mean this is the right fit for you...you need to understand that the parents and the children will always come first!
Play ball!

Elder Care

Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own)

We hear and watch the commercials about elder care all over the place, but did you know that there are several different ways to serve and care for our elderly loved ones? There's the non-medical types of care, which is  basic care and service in an elderly person's home. There's a model that is preventative care that focuses on  balance and diet. There's elderly care that focuses on nursing care in-home. Then, there are the high-touch medical models. There are placement services that help families find the right kind of facility to move Mom or Dad into When they've reached that point where they just can't be safe in their own home any longer. There's Dementia or  Alzheimer's assessment and care.  Many of these models have an additional revenue stream of temporary injury care, special needs care-giving for children or adults with mental or emotional challenges.  All of these models are surprisingly high-technology, so you can not only keep tabs on your clients and your staff, but inform the family with status updates! Very impressive! some models start as home-based and scale up to office space, while others require an office space from the start. (one model is staffing medical care facilities, so it's all home-based!-nice!) Whatever model you choose, it's a growing model because elder care is one of the hottest and fastest growing markets in franchising. If you can follow the system you WILL be successful.

As the executive owner of any of these models you don't need to be a nurse to manage a team of care givers or nurses, but you do have to have a heart for the elderly and good communication skills. When you invest in a franchise, you are trained on how to hire the right kind of staff, how to run a business that cares for the elderly- even how to deal with the insurance. As the franchisee of an elder-care or special needs- care franchise, your job is to make certain your clients have the right kind and quality of care. You'll hire employees, manage the schedule, market, meet with physicians, church leaders, elder-care facility leaders, hospitals, and families. Owning n elder care franchise is rewarding, challenging and serves the community in a uniquely supportive way. We take care of those who've gone before us and honor them.

Signs, Signage and Everything Visual!

Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own)

You can't go very far outside your own bed without seeing signs, signage, or something visual that advertises a product, concept or service. The fact of the matter is that a sign company has designed and manufactured every sign you see, whether it be a  simple name tag, hotel room number, a tri-fold brochure or something bigger like a billboard, wall mural, digital or 3D sign, a floor logo or a wrapped vehicle. Yup. it's all done by sign companies, big and small. And, you can own a franchised sign company which will boost your exposure and  add needed support to you for the big projects. One of the most exciting, productive, difference-making franchises you can possibly be a part of: light manufacturing signage!

As the executive owner you don't need to be a graphic designer or know much about the industry. The beautiful part of franchises is that they train you on how to run the business, how to hire talent- everything. AS owner, your job is to keep the wheels turning. Hire employees, manage the supplies, marketing, host events, sponsor teams, get exposure and bring people to your place of business. Owning a sign franchise is exciting, filled with variety, visually thrilling and  is a fabulous way to participate in your community by helping to build the small and large businesses in your area.

Specialty Foods

Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own)

Everyone knows about this category: ice cream, frozen yogurt, hot dogs, nuts, smoothies, pretzels, fries, coffee, you name it. Wherever there are people, there needs to be great food. But did you know that depending on the type of specialty food you specialize in,  you can choose from a brick and mortar stand-alone to a kiosk to a food truck to mobile cart? That's right. You choose how big you want to go. You choose how quickly you want to scale up to more than one unit. ( you could eventually end up with 20 food carts bringing in $50 every ten minutes. Think about that for a second...$$$$$$, ka-ching....
You choose how many moving parts you want to deal with (a brick and mortar stand-alone has a lot more moving parts than a cart). The fun in specialty food is that you sell one kind of food, and that particular food is hot, hot, hot in terms of popularity. With mobile specialty food you can choose what events to attend: football, concerts, school events, fairs, conventions. You are as busy as you like and can close up shop whenever you want to take some time off. (or hire someone to cover for you)

As the executive owner your job is to keep the wheels turning. Hire employees,  manage the supplies, marketing, host events, sponsor teams, get exposure and bring people to your place of business. Make our specialty food business fun, exciting and the hottest thing in town. This is a fabulous way to participate in your community, host charity events and bring people together.

Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own):

Staffing Industry

With the high turn-over rate of employees, and the uncertainty of job stability, staffing companies are on the rise. The great news is that the great ones that are already established are growing by leaps and bounds, so you don't have to re-invent the wheel to get immediate traction in this industry. This is another feel-good franchise that brings together those who are looking for employment and those who need to hire employees. As the middle-man, your franchise screens and places people in the right job. Some are temporary, some are permanent, some are executive placements.

As the executive owner your job would be to network, manage the manager of your office staff, and mange the over-arching business. You'll meet wit small to medium business owners, and yes, some big name businesses as well, to asses what kind of staff they need. People and businesses are constantly having employee turnover, so there's repeat business as well as new business.

You'll need a brick and mortar office that is able to scale UP, UP, UP.  You'll start with a few full-time staff (3-5).

If you've been in HR, if you've been an executive, if you have connections with your community businesses, this is a great niche for you to move into very smoothly. You have to like people with a strong emotional IQ, be a good problem solver, be a positive culture creator, and you must be comfortable networking.

CANDY SPILL   #7

Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own):

Urgent Care Franchise

There aren't many of these that will be going up, and they are very pricey, but Urgent Care Franchises are becoming more prevalent as people are opting out of going to the hospital for minor injuries or services. Some physicians prefer to leave their individual practice and go this route, or add this to their portfolio. Some RN's are joining together and investing in these because they want their lives back, still want to be involved in health care, but want to make a much higher income while putting in more reasonable hours. Scrapes, cuts, burns, falls, breaks, flue, the sniffles and throw-ups, all the little things that don't require hospitalization and are not routine check-ups are for this niche market.  It's a high investment because of equipment, professional staffing and insurance.

As the executive owner your job would be to network, manage your doctor and nursing staff, and manage the business of profit and loss. Most of these franchise owners hire a General Manager to run things because there are a lot of moving parts. But if you love the industry and you want to contribute to your community in meaningful ways, this is a great model for you.

Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own):

Emergency Clean-Up

Emergency clean up covers everything from natural disasters (hurricanes, fire, flood, earthquake) to office and home mishaps (did your sprinklers go off again? someone set of the smoke alarm? electrical fire?  did the sump pump fail you? and the ever-evil and invisible MOLD and MILDEW culprits )  The franchises that work in this industry are busy all-the-time, so don't think your business is only functioning during horrible weather. Any home that comes down with mold or mildew, basement flooding, roof leak- they all need your services. But when there is a natural disaster, and they do occur, then ALL the different franchises in this industry are slammed, so don't worry about competition.

As the executive owner your job would be to network, meet with insurance companies, bankers - those people who sell the insurance coverage, individual home-owners and business owners, realtors, home improvement business owners, you'll be going to events that support your local community, managing and scheduling your team, and marketing your business. Investment includes equipment, vans (possibly wrapped), software, and Search engine marketing (usually provided by the franchisor)

If you like to be the rescue hero, are good with people who are in a bit of a panic, great with insurance agents and a strong team builder and leader, this could be the right fit for you.

It's not rocket science to own your own business. It's just different from the masses. A great business isn't for everyone, but it might be for you...

CANDY SPILL   # 5
Another franchise opportunity
(that you probably didn't know you could own):

K-12 , Adult, Veteran, Tutoring

Kids need academic help these days and you might be the perfect one to provide it.

Teachers! tired of the politics, low pay, union lock step, paper grading, meetings, meetings, meetings and early morning bad coffee, and the haunting wonder if you are making the kind of difference you aspired to when you first chose the profession of shaping young minds? Tutoring  reaches individuals where they need the help. Reading, SATs, math, filling in the learning gaps so a child can truly thrive at school.

There's a huge demand as well for GED and advanced tutoring for our Veterans who have served our country and now want to pick up on their education where they may have left off.

As the executive owner your job would be to network, meet with principals, PTA, create marketing events, support your local community, manage and schedule your teachers, create curriculum (or tweak the established curriculum), and grow the clientele.

Parents are desperate for the right kind of help for their child. Teachers are yearning to work with children and make a real difference without the headache of public school restrictions. You can help parents, their children, part-time teachers, all while making  a better income than you would as a public school teacher.

Many tutoring franchise models are home based. You'll schedule tutoring sessions at clients' homes or libraries. Some are brick and mortar. It depends on what you want your business to be.

After school hours, Saturdays. 3 or more employees.  Very scalable. The more P/T teachers you have, the more students you can take on.

You don't have to be a teacher at all - you might just care about kids and their education. Great communication skills are required.

As the executive owner your job would be to network, create marketing events, support your local community, manage and schedule your teachers, create curriculum (or tweak the established curriculum), and grow the clientele. Public and private schools alike are clambering for this service, as are community park districts and programs.

School and after school hours, Saturdays. 3 or more employees.
You don't have to be an artist, but you do need to love children, parents and your teaching crew.
